Appeals Court to consider Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s petition tomorrow

The Court of Appeal today (17) ordered that the petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, seeking an order to prevent his arrest in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday bomb attacks, be taken up for consideration tomorrow (18).

The petition was taken up today before a bench comprising President of the Court of Appeal Justice Rohantha Abeysooriya and Justice Priyantha Fernando, said Ada Derana reporter.

During the proceedings, the President of the Court of Appeal ordered that the petition be called tomorrow for the verification of facts.

Accordingly, the petition is scheduled to be considered tomorrow before a Court of Appeal bench comprising President Justice Rohantha Abeysooriya and Justice Sarath Dissanayake.
