A sudden fire that broke out in an electrical system located on the ground floor of the Kalutara District Secretariat at around 8:30 a.m. today (13) caused damage to the equipment.
However, no casualties or injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
The Fire Brigade of the Kalutara Municipal Council reportedly dispatched fire engines to the scene and successfully brought the fire under control.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that the electricity supply to the Kalutara District Secretariat remains disconnected following the incident.
