The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has issued a statement saying there is no need to revise the dates of the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, as students have been provided with sufficient time to prepare.
The statement was issued in response to requests made by various parties to further postpone the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, which is scheduled to commence on August 10, 2026.
According to the statement, based on teacher guidelines issued by the National Institute of Education (NIE), 300 school days are required to complete the Advanced Level syllabus.
The Ministry pointed out that students sitting for the 2026 A/L examination will have had 343 school days from the official commencement of academic activities up to August 7, 2026.
The Ministry further highlighted that candidates appearing for the examination for the second and third time will have had a period of four months and ten days between the release of the previous A/L examination results and the commencement of the 2026 examination.
Accordingly, the Ministry emphasized that students have been granted adequate time to prepare for the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination and, therefore, there is no requirement to alter the scheduled examination period.
