Special opposition meeting underway over move to extend judges’ retirement age

A special meeting of leaders and representatives of opposition parties regarding the government's proposal to extend the retirement age of Supreme Court judges is currently underway at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in Colombo.

Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Sarvajana Balaya leader Dilith Jayaweera, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser Namal Rajapaksa, former Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, and several other opposition MPs and representatives have arrived at the Opposition Leader's Office to participate in the discussion.

The meeting is reportedly being held at the invitation of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
